Rev. Smith was baptized at Macedonia at the age of 7. He and his family remained faithful members throughout the years.

He was called to pastor Macedonia in 1989. Rev. Smith has been married to Olesha Smith for the past 21 years. To this union they have four lovely children, 4 girls – Nekisha, Alisha, Janell, and Donnelle. They are also blessed with three grandsons, Malik, Marlon, and Kayate.

Rev. Smith presently serves as president of the Ministry Fellowship of Albuquerque and Vicinity, Inc., Secretary of the Baptist Ministry Union of Albuquerque, 1st Assistant Recording Secretary of the National Baptist Convention of America, Inc., President of the Progressive Baptist State convention of New Mexico, and Secretary of the National President’s Moderation Council of the National Baptist Convention of America, Inc.

Rev. Smith is also a licensed funeral director in the state of New Mexico.
His favorite verse is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!”
